Produced and filmed in central Massachusetts in 2021, THE LIBERATOR is an original, independent feature film based on the life of Ireland’s greatest champion Daniel O’Connell (1775 – 1847). Sweeping yet intimate, this true story traces O’Connell’s rise from the dirt floors of a peasant cottage in Kerry to the marble steps of the Palace of Westminster in London. The August 29 showing at MFAT will its second screening ever.
