SHARING ART IN A TIME OF CRISIS

Register to attend this virtual meeting

Join painters Diane Novetsky and Marjorie Kaye as they discuss their work, art practice, and ideas with Artscope Magazine publisher Kaveh Mojtabai. During this meeting, they’ll discuss their recent exhibition, “Strange Circuitry” at ArtSpace Maynard which was closed last month. This webinar will provide a virtual meeting space for artists, curators and all those interested in the arts.

Kaye and Novetsky’s work features organic forms pulsating in a universe of bold color, high energy and vibrant sensuality. Kaye crafts dense paintings on small, shaped plywood and Novetsky works on large canvases. Their paintings explore a centrifugal movement of elements that form a central core. The use of color is visceral, saturated and hypnotic; swirling with an energy that is both harmonic and disturbing.

Maynard ROCKS

Maynard ROCKS!

Welcome to the official Community ROCKS group for Maynard, MA – rocking the 01754.

Started by a family with a mild obsession with rocks, painting and the ‘little things’.

We are painting rocks, shells and earthy things to hide around Maynard to brighten people’s day. Maynard, with its legacy of artistic creativity and dedication to community, has inspired over a thousand rockers to make a little difference everyday.

How does it work?

Wanna hide an Art Rock? Paint and place a rock, shell or other natural item within Maynard to be found & appreciated. Share a photo or clue on Maynard Rocks!
IMPORTANT: Write “Maynard ROCKS! F.B.” on your art rock. Post on social media with hashtag #MaynardRocks

Found an MaynART Rock? Admire & share your experience on Maynard ROCKS! Rock the selfie or just the art. If the art rock really calls to you, by all means keep it forever as your new MaynART Rock and tell others how you found it. The goal is to get lots of people painting.

Create. Share. Inspire.

#MaynardRocks

Rock on, Maynard. Rock on…

Fine Arts Theater Offers Movies Online

Theatrical-At-Home

While Fine Arts Theatre remains temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are pleased to now offer curated Fine Arts programming that you can enjoy at home. Your rental of these films help support our theatre during this unprecedented time. For more information on this service, please visit our webpage. Your support means so much to us. Please stay safe so we can see you all very soon!

Virtual Cinema FAQ
While Fine Arts Theatre Place remains closed during the COVID-19 outbreak, we are currently offering virtual screenings to watch right from home until the time comes when we can see you again! We’re moving quickly to put this new service in place, so please be patient if we run into some initial technical issues.

We have tried to answer some common questions you may have about how our virtual cinema works.

If you have additional questions, please submit a request through our contact form.

Q: HOW DO I WATCH THE FILMS?

A: Every new release we offer will be available through the individual distributor’s websites and streaming services. You’ll be taken to their websites to purchase and watch the film, but a portion of your ticket will help support Fine Arts Theatre. In most cases, you will need to create an account, if you don’t already have one, for the individual platform the film uses. Once signed in and purchased, you will then get access to watch on your computer, tablet or mobile device. We suggest connecting your laptop to your television via an HDMI cable to display on your television.

Some distributors, such as Kino Now, also utilize apps for Roku or Apple TV (requires tvOS 9.0 or later) so you can watch the film on your TV. Please refer to the distributor’s website for more information.

Q: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ATTEND A SCREENING THROUGH THE VIRTUAL CINEMA?

A: Rental fees are determined by the distributer and therefore, may vary film to film. Please see the distributor’s website for rental fees. Fine Arts Theatre will then receive a portion of your rental which will be used to help support our theatre during the COVID19 outbreak.

Q: HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WATCH A FILM?

A: Once you purchase a film, your rental period begins. In most cases you have 48-72 hours to watch the film.

Q: I JUST PURCHASED THE FILM, BUT I DON’T SEE HOW TO WATCH IT?

A: First, check your email, and make sure your purchase went through. For many platforms, the email you were sent should have a link for you to watch the film.

Q: CAN I USE FINE ARTS THEATRE GIFT CARDS OR MOVIE PASSES FOR VIRTUAL SCREENING ROOM FILMS?

A: Unfortunately, that’s not an option at this time. You’ll be able to use them when we reopen. We can’t wait to see you!
