Concert: Johhny Hoy & The Bluefish

Concert: Johhny Hoy & The Bluefish

Brought to you by: Fugitive Productions

Johnny Hoy & the Bluefish bring their sometimes soulful, sometimes raunchy take on a great smorgasbord classics — Chicago Blues, Rockabilly, Rock’n’Roll, Country, Swing, good old R&B, and a bit of Cajun flavored off beat stuff — to Sanctuary in Maynard. This is a dance band from start to finish. Formed in 1991 and based in on Martha’s Vineyard, the band has released five CDs and performed around the world — as far as South Africa and Norway.

JOHNNY juggles a full life where he takes advantage of his many skills including stone masonry, fishing, antique dealing, farming. Somehow he manages to do all the gigs as well. He came to the Island in 1978, after soaking up Muddy Waters’ and Tom Waits’ shows as a teenager.

JEREMY BERLIN, the piano player has been with the band since the summer of ’93. He’s played duets with Bill Clinton and Carly Simon and toured the world with The Nina Simone Band. He’s not afraid of anything — and he plays it all. Jeremy’s right has plays the keyboard. His left hand plays the bass line, as the band has no bass player. (PS You’d never know.)

DELANIE PICKERING arrived on Martha’s Vineyard in her van at the age of 20, and for the first few months, didn’t tell anyone she played guitar. Now in her mid-20s, she plays with everyone and joined the band in 2018. A powerhouse blues player, she has the tone and authenticity of a seasoned performer and sings that way too.

CAMERON IGO is all of 19 years old with the youthful vibe and energy that comes with that! We found our new drummer at good moment — his parents were long-time fans, and he raps from behind the kit!

Concert: Mike Payette’s Acoustic Roadshow

Mike Payette’s Acoustic Roadshow

Brought to you by: Fugitive Productions

Acoustic Roadshow plays acoustic versions of the harmony-rich songs many of us grew up with (The Beatles, CSNY, Steely Dan, The Beach Boys). This quartet of seasoned performers showcases both the vocal and instrumental talents of each of its members.

Mike Payette
With a musical career spanning decades, Mike is a well-respected member of the Boston musical community. His bass playing and strong vocal ability are always in demand. Acoustic Roadshow is the latest chapter in his musical story. In addition to his years of live performance experience, Michael has sung on numerous radio and TV ads in the Boston market. (Does “1-800-54-GIANT” or “We’re the One for You New England, New England Telephone” bring back any memories?)

Chris Leadbetter
An accomplished guitar and mandolin player, Chris is known for his voice, notably singing harmonies. For more than 20 years, he was a core member of a popular cover band, The Swinging Johnsons, playing clubs and private functions around New England. He has also been featured on recordings and performances with local songwriters Kat Chapman and Digney Fignus.

Alex MacDougall
If you have any experience with the Greater Boston music scene, you know who Alex is, and you know why he’s so busy. A gifted drummer, he always plays exactly what you want to hear, what’s right for the song. And his vocals — many know him for the “Sinatra Sundays” he was a part of at Lucky’s Lounge in Southie. But he’s no one trick pony. He can pretty much sing anything he wants to and just nail it. We’re psyched to have him bring “that thing he does” to the bandstand at Sanctuary.

Mike DiBari
Boston-based jazz blues guitarist Mike DiBari is inspired by B.B. King and Freddie King, among others. He began his studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, and in 1994, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Berklee, studying with Jon Damian, Jim Kelly, and Jon Finn. After forming the Mike DiBari Swingtet, he formed the Palomino Records label and released his debut album, Jumpin’ the Blues (1997). His next two albums, Rotary Ahead! (2003) and Music of the Spheres (2007), featured the Mike DiBari. Mike continues to perform live with many local and national blues and R&B artists including Mud Morganfield (Son of Muddy Waters) and Boston’s own Toni Lynn Washington.

Doors open at 7pm • Performance starts at 7:30pm

Fugitive Comedy featuring Chris Zito, Bryan Muenzer, Tim Ciampa, Amy Tee

Fugitive Comedy hosts some of the best and brightest comics working in the Boston area and nationally. The comedians who have joined us have appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Conan, David Letterman, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Last Comic Standing, America’s Got Talent, Comedy Central, The Jim Jeffries Show, Comedy Bang! Bang! Live! Podcast, NPR’s Commonwealth Journal, Lifetime’s Girls Night Out — and have opened for numerous well-known comedians in clubs around the nation.

Chris Zito (Headliner)
Chris has spent the last 30 years sharing his obsession with his family with comedy fans and radio listeners all over the country. He’s a mainstay of the Boston comedy scene, a favorite New England radio personality, and has appeared on Comedy Central, USA Network, A&E, and NESN. Chris is a working actor and has shared the screen with Sigourney Weaver, Julia Stiles, and Larry David, among many others. He expresses his love of family life through an autobiographical journey of the trials tribulations, and yes, the joys of marriage and family. Chris is the host of The Morning Show with Chris Zito and Suzanne Lewis heard weekday mornings on Mix 93-1 in Springfield and 96.1 in Worcester — and on the iIHeartRadio app.

Bryan Muenzer
Bryan is very tall in stature and short in attention span so his jokes are mostly quick one liners. His sense of humor derives from a blend of being awkwardly tall and just plain awkward. Bryan was voted New England’s Best Bar Comic in 2017 and regularly performs in Boston and New York City.

Tim Ciampa
Tim is a comedian and writer based out of Boston. He was both a 2021 Boston Comedy Festival semi-finalist and a 2022 Massachusetts’ Funniest Person finalist. He regularly performs at clubs and festivals across the country, sharing stories from his unique upbringing as a missionary kid and charming audiences with an act Vanyaland Magazine calls “as relatable and genuine as you can get.”

Amy Tee
“Not every crazy looks crazy,” says Amy, the comedian and motivational speaker who brings her boyish charm and dry wit to the stage with a storytelling style that shifts between stereotypes and reality. She delivers comedy with stigma-busting honesty. “I feel alive,” she says of the work. “I’m candid and exposed yet still fully clothed. Identified by the Boston Globe as a comedian to watch, and in Curve magazine as one of the “funniest lesbians in America,” Amy toured nationally and was a featured comedian in the film, “Laughing Matters — The Next Generation.” She remains a fixture on the comedy circuit, is a regular performer at the Boston Comedy Festival, and has been featured on Sirius XM Satellite Radio and the LOGO television network.
