Andrea Gillis is a powerhouse singer who has been a staple of the Boston music scene for years. She’s got the lungs of Tine Turner, the songwriting chops of Chrissie Hynde, and the swagger or Mick Jagger. Her band has opened for Sharon Jones, Lee Fields, J. Geils, and more.
The Boston Globe says “She has been blessed with the pipes of Etta James and with the boozy swagger of Jim Morrison”.
“”Leave The Light On” is the song we all needed right now. If this is your introduction to Andrea Gillis, you’ll want to dig into her cataolg over at Bandcamp. It’s full of killer releases bridging the worlds of rock, soul, and pop. Check is out, and you’ll know what people have known in Boston for years: Andrea Gillis is a star!” – Lord Rutledgehttps://fasterandlouderblog.blogspot.com/
Fueled by a pop-rock sensibility, Abbie Barrett’s songwriting is unique and unpredictable—but always something you can sing along to. Her music has been featured in Magnet, American Songwriter, the Boston Herald, Vanyaland, and on CMT’s Cool Album Cuts. In 2015 she received a Boston Music Award for Best Singer-Songwriter. Her band plays regularly in the New England area and has opened for notable acts including the B-52s, Juliana Hatfield, The Motels, Will Dailey, and Rhett Miller.
With a powerhouse voice that cuts through any dark, smoky bar like a beam of light, Amber Angelina is an eclectic torch singer who has been likened to everyone from Adele and Kate Bush to Neko Case and Linda Ronstadt. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Angelina has become a treasured staple in New England, where she and her first-rate band deliver soulful, stop-you-dead-in-your-tracks songs that grapple with embracing vulnerabilities, making peace with our mistakes, and finding strength in a weary world. You can see Amber Angelina perform regularly in Cambridge at her bimonthly residency at the Plough and Stars.
Anngelle Wood from Boston Emissions will be orchestrating a heartwarming collection for children of all ages, from infants to 18, during the concert. Embrace the joy of sharing and contribute items such as toys, books, art supplies, personal care items, electronics, musical instruments, clothing, hats, coats, sporting goods, hoodies, and gift cards. These gifts will go a long way in brightening the holidays for local foster families. Let’s come together to make a difference and spread the warmth of the season through the thoughtful generosity of our community.
